About us

Magyar Kurír, the oldest Catholic news agency in Central Europe, which was founded 95 years ago, can be read with a new design and amplified content from Whitsun 2005.

Our aim is to provide news and information about the life of the universal and the Hungarian Church. Our news will be updated several times a day.

Our foreign sources are websites of Catholic news agencies and newspapers in Italian, English and German languages. We publish the news of the Hungarian Church based firstly on the information we receive from the Press Office of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference and from the diocesan press referents, secondly on the coverage of our colleagues.

In the columns “Background”, “Opinions”, “We Introduce” we offer more information to those who are familiar with Church life but also to those who are searching for the way to reach or to return to the Church.
